The Donegal Association’s 121st annual St. Patrick’s Day Dinner Dance was held on Sunday, March 5th at Antun’s in Queens Village. This year we are excited to honor two exceptional Donegal businessmen.

Joseph Donagher, our 2017 Donegal Man of the Year, born in Queens, NY, was raised in Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, where his parents Paddy and Pauline Donagher still reside. Joseph has had a very successful career as the proud owner of several prominent bars and restaurants: Rattle N Hum East, the Beer Authority, and Rattle N Hum West. Joseph has served as the vice-president of the Donegal Association, chaired the Donegal Association Annual Dinner Dances, and can be found on Fifth Avenue every St Patrick’s Day, keeping the Donegal Contingent in line.

Keelan McLaughlin, the 2017 recipient of the Willie Joe Cunningham Memorial Award, was born in Mill Brae, Buncrana, County Donegal, to Peggy McLaughlin and the late Charlie McLaughlin. Keelan came to New York in 1998 where he began his career as an electrician. He soon started his own business and today heads Crana Electric, Inc., one of New York’s leading electrical contracting firms. Over the years, Keelan has immersed himself in the GAA life with the Donegal Football Club where he is in his second year as Chairperson, contributing immensely to their successes.
